Evolution of a Partnership: BBGA and EBAA Transition to New Membership Structure

After a decade of close-knit collaboration, the British Business General Aviation Association (BBGA) and the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) have announced a shift in their formal partnership.

A Decade of Shared Success

Since 2016, the two associations have operated under a dual membership agreement, a strategic alliance designed to strengthen the voice of business aviation both within the UK and across the broader European landscape. This decade-long partnership has seen both organizations work in lockstep to navigate regulatory shifts, advocate for industry interests, and provide a unified front for the sector.

Navigating Change

As the aviation industry evolves, so too must the associations that represent it. Following extensive discussions regarding the future of their joint operations, BBGA and EBAA have mutually decided to conclude their current dual membership agreement on 7 August 2026.

The decision stems from a natural evolution of the roles of both associations and a current misalignment regarding subscription fee structures. While the formal dual membership status is ending, both organizations remain dedicated to the health and growth of the industry.

What This Means for Members

Once the agreement concludes in August 2026, the combined BBGA-EBAA membership option will no longer be available.

Action Required: Members will be asked to select a new membership path that best suits their specific business needs.

Next Steps: Both associations are committed to a seamless transition. Members can expect detailed communications shortly outlining the updated application processes and the various membership tiers available through each organization independently.

A Continued Commitment

The end of a formal membership agreement does not signal the end of a relationship. Both the BBGA and EBAA have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a positive and constructive working relationship.

Industry advocacy remains a team sport. Both associations will continue to collaborate on key regional and international issues to ensure the business aviation sector remains resilient, innovative, and well-represented on the global stage
