Textron Aviation Enters 2026 with Fresh Leadership and a Refreshed Fleet
Wichita, KS — Textron Aviation is leveraging a massive 36% fourth-quarter revenue jump to propel its 2026 growth strategy. Under the new leadership of CEO Lisa Atherton, who took the helm in January 2026, the company is moving aggressively to monetize its recently certified “Gen2” and “Ascend” product lines.
Product Entry into Service (EIS) Success
The first quarter of 2026 has been defined by the successful market entry of two major Citation models:
- The Citation Ascend: After receiving FAA certification in November 2025, the first retail customer took delivery on December 30, with the production ramp-up now in full swing for 2026.
- The Citation CJ3 Gen2: Textron handed over the first unit of this extensively upgraded light jet in January 2026, marking a milestone for what the company calls its “most comprehensive Gen2 investment to date.”
Financial Outlook
While Textron’s overall 2026 revenue guidance of $15.5 billion (across all segments) initially drew mixed reactions from investors, the Aviation segment remains its most resilient performer.
- Backlog: The aviation unit maintains a stable $7.7 billion backlog, ensuring high visibility through the remainder of the year.
- Aftermarket Surge: Service and parts revenue increased significantly in early 2026, driven by a growing global fleet and the high utilization rates of the Citation Latitude and Longitude models.
